【Team of genius】：Sanya Research Institute has set up 18 scientific research teams to settle in Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, including 3 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 9 National Outstanding Young Scholars and Distinguished Professors, and a total of 117 mobile scientists. The main research directions are: crop genetics and breeding; crop gene editing; crop phenomics; soil and ecology; organic solid waste; information agriculture; land resource management and construction of beautiful countryside; innovation of horticultural germplasm resources; food processing and testing; Animal animal disease prevention and control; animal genetics and breeding.

 

【Talent Cultivation】：Relying on the superior discipline team and platform resources of Nanjing Agricultural University, Sanya Research Institute has recruited 210 special graduate students in Hainan, including 60 PhDs and 150 graduate students.

 

【Scientific Research Platform】：The existing independent laboratory is 350 square meters, with 220 sets of instruments and equipment. It shares 24 laboratories on the 4th floor of Building 1, Yazhou Bay Seed Laboratory with the Sanya Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, with a construction area of ​​about 960 square meters and 828 shared sets of instruments and equipment. The modern agriculture and green production laboratory includes a crop molecular breeding platform, a crop gene editing platform, a characteristic horticultural crop physiological ecology and germplasm innovation platform, a crop pest and disease green control platform, animal green production and food safety platform, agricultural waste resource utilization and the new fertilizer platform, with a total construction area of ​​5,710 square meters, is expected to be put into use in September 2022. The laboratory will be equipped with a total of 1,145 sets of instruments and equipment such as laser confocal microscope, GC-MS analyzer, gene amplification instrument (PCR). The existing Batou base comprehensive test base is 287 mu.
